Why you'd want to live in Charlestown
Mix of Coastal (more white collar), Suburban, and Rural (more blue collar), it is located in the south coastal area of RI, bordering Westerly to the west and the ocean to its south. Charlestown is about a 45-60 minute commute to downtown Providence. Charlestown has several nice beaches, which are popular with locals and out of towners alike.
Neighboring Connecticut has lots of coast but not a lot of beachfront. Charlestown also has a portion of the Burlingame Wildlife Preserve/Campground (partially in Westerly as well), The Niningret Wildlife Preserve is also located in Charlestown. Charlestown is mainly residential with very little commerce, yet it has some of the lowest taxes in the state. It is home to a popular annual seafood festival.
