The East Side of Providence is located to the east of the Providence River, looking over downtown Providence. This white-collar section of the city is made up of several historic neighborhoods and numerous parks and green spaces, giving it a more suburban feel. The East Side is home to two internationally known Colleges, Brown University and the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD).
Wherever you are on the East Side you are within walking distance to everything, with plenty of shops and restaurant along Thayer and Wickenden streets. The area is easily accessible by I-195 and I-95, which makes it desirable to commuters who travel to South Coast Massachusetts or Boston.
e-alert: Generally buyers looking on the East Side of Providence are looking for a neighborhood feel with the convenience of being so close to downtown. The convenience to the highways for commuters is also a big draw.
